Beautiful handwriting is an expression of personality and individuality. It is the writer´s own, unmistakable hallmark. Handwritten letters, congratulations, invitations, place cards, menus, certificates, programmes and the like invariably seem more personal.
Now there is the ideal writing instrument – the LAMY joy, a fountain-pen that inspires beautiful, creative writing. Thanks to its ergonomic design, it sits comfortably in the hand.
Made of black shiny plastic. Ergonomic grip section and flexible clip of spring brass wire. Cartridge filling system with ink cartridge LAMY T 10 blue (can be modified for use with converter Z 24). Stainless steel nib with 1.1, 1.5 or 1.9 mm chisel point.
With its rollerball refill, the LAMY tipo writes just as fluently and accurately as one would expect of any Lamy pen. And it is ready for use instantly. This is because instead of a cap, it has an integrated clip-push mechanism which makes for extremely swift selection. When the clip is pressed to extend the rollerball tip, the clip itself retracts into a slot in the shaft, meaning that it can no longer be used to clip the pen onto a (jacket) pocket. When the top of the clip is pressed, however, the rollerball tip disappears inside the body and the clip returns to its original position. The LAMY tipo can once again be clipped onto a (jacket) pocket without any risk of stains.

Invented in France in 1795 by Nicolas-Jacques Conté especially for drawing and sketching, Conté Crayons are made from a blend of natural pigments, kaolin clay, and graphite. The Conté crayon has been used by many of the world’s greatest artists, including Picasso, Delacroix, and Degas.
The rich, vivid colors of Conté Crayons mix together nicely, and a range of effects can be consistently produced. They are well suited for use on newsprint, bristol, toned paper or heavily grained surfaces. Their rich opacity makes them ideal for work on darker papers and their quality ensures the longevity of drawings. Conté crayons are waxier and much firmer than soft pastels, so they produce little dust and are easy to control.
Sharpen Conté Crayons to a chisel tip with a sanding pad for detailed work or drag them flat on their sides for various shading techniques on large areas. The unique shape allows the sticks to be broken for easier use.
Sticks are 2½” long × ¼” square (63 mm × 6 mm).

The Conté à Paris “Pierre Noire” pencil is a soft lead with a black that is dense, deep, indelible and matt. It is much appreciated for its use on all types of supports : sketch pad, kraft paper, linen canvas etc.
Recommended for: nudes, landscapes, laying rapid sketches.
Use: with a sharpened lead, the drawing is lively and accurate. With a half-worn lead, the work is more spontaneous and free.
Available in H, HB, B, 2B, 3B.
The Conté à Paris “Charcoal” pencil gives a clean, dense finish of an intense black. Its specialty characteristic is that it does not break, making it easy to transport. Its advantage is that it blends perfectly with the iron red and sepia pencils.
Recommended for: sketching long or rapid poses.
Use: In pencil form, charcoal produces more accurate and carrefully drawn lines than traditional charcoal and it does not dirty the hands.
Available in H, HB, B, 2B.
The Conté à Paris “Graphite” pencil is particularly smooth. It does’nt “scratch” the paper but slides over the support.
Recommended for: detailed and accurate work whether this involves building up a sophisticated perspective, a comic-strip character, or a perfectly constructed nude.
Use: whether beginners or confirmed artists, users have a wide range of grades ar their disposal : the drawing is constructed using “H” or “2H” pencils, then the most contrasted values are highlighted with “B” or “5B”.
Available in 3H, 2H, H, HB, B, 2B, 3B, 4B, 5B, and 6B.
The Conté à Paris “White” pencil is mainly used with the lead sharpened, the line is clear and the colour transparent.
Recommended for: Contrasting, softening, lightening values for all types of subjects.
Use: It is the essential complement for all the other pencils, and its main function is to hint on a volume etc. However, it can be used alone on coloured paper, especially black paper.
The Conté à Paris “Carbon” pencil is derived from traditional charcoal but is stronger, and its lead does not crumble or dirty the hands. Its delicated and detailes finish enables all types of perspectives to be drawn accurately.
Recommended for: small sketches drawn on the spot. Travel diaries.
Use: this light and compact crayon is the perfect tool for sketch artists on the move.
Available in 2H, H, HB, B, 2B and 3B.
The colour of the Conté à Paris “Sanguine“ pencil is a deep “rust” and its lines are easily blended. With a sharpened lead : the drawing is accurate, the colour is transparent and if the work is lightly drawn the Sanguine pencil lets the texture of the paper appear. With a half-worn lead, the opacity increases with the pressure exerted on the pencil.
Recommended for: nudes, its colour recalls that of the skin when highlighted using white. Blending the colour creates the shading.
Use: Sanguine is frequently used in sketching to draw the body. For more complex work, it’s advisable to use Pierre Noire to emphasise the contrast and white pencil to highlight the areas of light on the body.
The Pilot Parallel is a major breakthrough in calligraphy pen design.
The “Parallel Structure” nib consists of two parallel plates, allowing the writer to create much sharper lines than with other calligraphy pens. It can also create gradated colors by transferring ink from one pen nib to another, allowing two different ink colors to then be used from one pen nib. These pens can be used by both right-handed and left-handed individuals.
Parallel Pens are available in 1.5mm, 2.4mm 5.6mm and 6mm widths.
Refills are available in black and assorted colours (the assorted refill pack contains one each of Black, Blue/Black, Sepia, Violet, Blue, Turquoise, Green, Light Green, Yellow, Orange, Red, and Pink).
Founded in 1825 in Birmingham by John and William Mitchell. Today William Mitchell still manufactures an important range of high quality writing tools. Available in #0 (3.7mm), #1 (3.0mm), #1.5 (2.4mm), #2 (1.9mm), #2.5 (1.5mm), #3 (1.2mm), #3.5 (1mm), #4 (0.8mm), #5 (0.6mm), #6 (0.5mm).
For more than 100 years, Brause Calligraphy Nibs have been considered by many calligraphers to be among the best on the market.
Offering a subtle balance between relative elasticity for easier writing, and the resistance necessary for clear strokes, Brause Nibs are manufactured from cold rolled steel and pressed with tools specific to each model and nib size. The most delicate part of the manufacturing process involves cutting a slit down the middle of the nib, enabling the ink to flow correctly and freely from the reservoir to the tip of the nib.
Available in sizes 0.5mm, 1mm, 1.5mm, 2mm, 2.5mm, 3mm, 4mm and 5mm.
Available in Crow Quill and Fine Point. Crow quill pens have a cylindrical body that only fit a crow quill nib, which generally draws finer lines than a standard nib.
#102 Holder: This durable plastic holder is 5″ long and fits crow quill nibs #102, #107, and #108.
#104 Holder: Durable plastic holder is 5″ long and fits fine nibs #100, #103 and #104.
The Hunt 103 is a small, flexible, and delicate nib. As it has a tendency to catch on a more textured surface, it is recommended for use on smooth papers and to be handled with an extremely light and sensitive touch. However, this nib is resilient on down strokes springing back into shape if moderate pressure is used. It has a similar feel to the Hunt 100 nib, except that it is larger, more flexible and less fragile than the 100. Suitable for writing at x-heights of 1/8″ or less.
A very steady and durable nib, the Hunt 101 is a great choice for projects that require larger writing with x-heights above 1/4″. It can be used on most paper surfaces, though it can have a tendency to catch on the upstroke when used on a rougher surface. The Hunt 101 requires firm and deliberate pressure to open swells, while its strength and steadiness makes it an ideal selection for student practice.

The colour of the Conté à Paris “Sepia” pencil is reminiscent of burnt umber. This pencil shades easily. With a sharpened lead, you achieve an accurate and delicate finish. With a half-worn lead, the finish becomes more opaque as the pressure exerted on the pencil increases.

The Derwent Burnisher is a hard colourless pencil which when used over layers of pigment provides a rich polished finish. Burnishing pushes the pigment into the paper and leaves a very well blended, photo like finish. By sealing the image with a heavy wax it gives the image a polished or reflective look and makes the colours appear brighter.
The Burnisher can also be used for the wax resist technique; draw your required design, this will add a layer of wax to the surface, then add your colour. The wax layer will resist the coloured pencil thus leaving that part of your drawing white.
If you are working with coloured pencils and want to create a subtle blend of colours then the Derwent Blender Pencil is the ideal accessory.
